6. How much does counseling cost?
Counseling fees are assessed on a per session basis and are based on a generous sliding fee scale, based on the client’s household income. Some clients will not have to pay a fee at all, based on this scale. The fee for a client’s session will be determined at the first counseling session.
Some health insurance provides counseling coverage. If so, Compassion will file the insurance on the client’s behalf. If only a portion of the cost of a session is reimbursed to Compassion, it is the client’s responsibility to pay the remaining balance at the beginning of the next counseling sesison.
Clients can also elect to pay the fee in full at each session. If fee balances are not being paid within reasonable amounts of time, Compassion Counseling Center reserves the right to cease providing counseling sessions. If the counselor feels that further counseling is warranted, the counselor will provide referrals to other organizations that might be able to assist the client for free.
