1. What is Compassion Counseling Center?

Compassion Counseling Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to counseling anyone desiring help with mental or emotional issues. As a nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to helping people regardless of income or insurance coverage. In addition Compassion exists to help students completing their graduate degrees in counseling by giving them field opportunities to work with clients as mandated by their university programs and state laws.

Oakdale United Methodist Church, located at 2675 Overhill Drive in Stephenville, TX, is graciously providing counseling facilities for us to help us keep our operational costs low.

3. Do you only offer Christian counseling?

No. While we will happily provide Christian counseling and can make referrals for pastoral counseling, Compassion will respect the belief system of each client, regardless of what that belief system might be, provided such a system does not endorse harming oneself or others.

4. What hours are available for appointments?

Mondays: 10 am to 6 pm

Thursdays: 10 am to 6 pm

5. What is your phone number and email address?

Phone: (254) 485-6885

6. How much does counseling cost?

Counseling fees are assessed on a per session basis and are based on a generous sliding fee scale, based on the client’s household income and size. The fee for a client’s session will be determined at the first counseling session.

Some health insurance provides counseling coverage. If so, Compassion will file the insurance on the client’s behalf. If only a portion of the cost of a session is reimbursed to Compassion, it is the client’s responsibility to pay the remaining balance at the beginning of the next counseling session. Please let our administrative assistant know that you plan to use insurance benefits when scheduling your first counseling session with Compassion. Thank you.

Clients can also elect to pay the fee in full at each session. If fee balances are not being paid within reasonable amounts of time, Compassion Counseling Center reserves the right to cease providing counseling sessions. If the counselor feels that further counseling is warranted, the counselor will provide referrals to other organizations that might be able to assist the client for free.
